Dimmers come in various sizes I am not sure but I think the smallest is 250w.

You just calculate the wattage to be dimmed then go for a dimmer at least a third greater than you need. If i have 200 watts to dim I will go for the 450w dimmer and if required to dim more I will go for the 1000w.

Make sure the lamp is dimmable first some are and some are not.

Cheers G . H.

These are the dimmable megaman lamps,

Customer supplied a 60Va to 400Va obviously the lower limit was still to high and it did not work.

Perhaps the wrong type also ? :_|

Dont you need special low voltage dimmers-have them in tlc catalouge

I assumed you were refering to mains powered 11w megaman, if they are low voltage you will have to get transformers that can be dimmable, normally arranged 1 transformer per light. They are around a fiver I think.

Any dimmer would do for mains operated dimmable lamps.

You only need a standard 250w dimmer switch, the dimmer works on the mains supply to the lamp via a variable resistor, if the lamp you are trying to dim is not dimmable you will normally hear a buzzz.
