does anyone else fit smoke detectors close by CU if its in an out of the way(unvisited regularly) location?

ie, under stairs, cellar, outside shed etc.

was just wondering if optical or ion was the prefered choice.

in our shed we have cctv cameras watching the fuse board so if anything caqtches fire in there we can tell on the cctv monitors in the cctv control room upstairs ; );\
