Hi guys,

Some of you know I have relocated to Lancashire from Wales. My house is on the market but things are slow. Don't want to rent it out to Vicky pollard and her 6 kids (or similar) for obvious reasons so at present its empty. Currently paying extortionate rent and looking for a solution.

I can buy a very nice static caravan for 5-7K 3 beds all mod cons etc. Plus a site fee of 3K a year (

Rent the house out Rev!You'll make more long term.
Trouble is house is not exactly low maintenance. I would have the hassles of all the repair and maintenance issues. Its a beautiful house full of original features, open beamed ceilings, nice fireplaces etc. I guess I would consider a professional couple or elderly but not a family. Just want to sell it really. If you rent it out its pretty much off the market.

Nah mate,

You'll make a packet, think corporate, large companies, companies moving professionals and executives around.

Short to medium term lets.

Get the maintenance up to date, sort the decs, neutral, and get a good contract written, (I may be able to help) & get some reliable on call contractors locally, sparks, plumbers etc. or get a management company involved.

There must be a spark near your place, who knows a reliable plumber?... etc.

Trouble is theres not much in the way of corporate, executive, proffesional left around the area. Main employer has closed down. 2nd biggest employer about to go. Plenty of single parent Vicky Pollard types - no thanks. Seen plenty of houses gtrashed by irresponsible tenants. Besides we plan o spend a week every month there.

Rev,

If you sell no wk per month!

I can however understand the trashing, however, you can protect quite well against this.

Again I may be able to point you in the right direction.

Where is the place my man?

Nice place, tasteful.

I still think you should investigate renting!

Hollyhead, is it P&O that runs the ferry?

There must be some companies up there that move staff around?

Selling anything at this time is not going to bring the true value. I would seriously think about letting for the next 4 or 5 years, it could bring you more income than you could get with a sale.

However is selling is your preferred choice then make sure its marketed at the right portion of the potential purchasers, often with local estate agents the wider market gets a little left behind.

You could probably save yourself a lot of money if you bought a static, once you are done with it the rental will probably pay your mortgage on a house in Blackpool. Regardless of any recession Blackpool is still a very well used holiday and day trip location.

If you really get stuck Sellers will put you up for a while :)
