Owing to the outstanding success of my last thread " Guess my favourite female singer" I thought I'd launch " Guess my Favourite Male Singer" at the risk of boring everyone rigid.

So here goes.

I have many favourite singers,as in... Elvis, Sinatra, Ella Fitgerald, Louis Armstrong and the all Stars , the Chris Barber Band, Chuck Berry, Judith Durham, Bob Dylan, CCR , ...Yeah I know ,all the old 'uns...but I think my favourite is.....................

Clues :-

Not British.

No longer with us .

Not Rock n Roll .

Not Jazz.

Not Pop, charty stuff.

Certainly not C.. rapping.

Tell me to sod off if you've had enough of this.

Back later.

hmmm.... few clues again deke..... headbang

... you like a pure clear voice in a woman.....and bob dylan et al ???? :C

so he's dead and foreign... and i reckon he has to be a soul singer.

( exbdc probably already has it)

if you were younger.... luther vandross would be the first port of call....

but seeing as you aren't.... sam cooke is my first guess.

You're a bit of a Sherlock Holmes Ian, Dylan is a carp singer but the words of some of his songs are excellent. A latter day Woody Guthrie. (Am also a fan)

Not really into soul TBH.

I like Sam Cooke, he was a good singer but not him ,and not his style.

This singer is so well known in his field that most clues would give it away immediately . Very difficult.

I have seen him in concert 3 times , one of the early, but not so well known, pioneers of R&R used to tour with him .

you're a cruel man deke.... i used to live in great barr, so i know what you're like... lol

not soul eh.... ok that means he's a crooner.

frank sinatra, dean martin....

Fan of them both , but no, wrong genre so......we are not talking............

Crooners

Jazz

R&R

Soul

crapping

R&B

Charty, bubblegum pop.

Boy Bands, girl bands ,skiffle , blues,.... erm... John Denver points you in the right direction , Bono said ,apparently, that compered to ???? we all sound like wimps.

Where in Great Barr did you live Ian, you're no a Taff then ?

Nat King Cole?Harry Belafonte?

Ray Charles?

:|
No sorry Specs, I like Nat King Cole and Ray Charles , dislike Belafonte since I read that at a show biz do and Rolf Harris entertaining , he turned his back on him throughout his set because he was white ,apparently. :_|
