Customer has thrown a good one at me.

Re fitting a shower room. Wants an electric towel rail.

Does NOT want the switch for it outside the room.  Does NOT want a pull cord.  Wants it on a timer.

Anyone know a suitable timer for a 150W heating element that's IP rated and can be used on the wall inside the shower room?

Customer says "just put a timer in an IP rated box"

I get the impression it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it's in the room.

It's an en-suite, and he doesn't want anything on the wall in the bedroom.

I'm going to suggest in a cupboard but that's some distance from the shower room.

mmmm,

could you put something 'in' the ceiling?

assuming this is upstairs, so a loft above, the ceiling would be 'out of zone' possibly, and use one of those access hatch type things someone pointed me to previously for gaining access to it,

That's what Evan's suggested, and leave a screwdriver hanging on a chain.

As they want it on a timer to come on and off at certain times of day, I am just going to suggest the timer is mounted remotely in a cupboard about 15 feet away. Surely the point of a timer is you don't ever need to touch it, apart from perhaps turn it off if you are going away.

Yes but this is an en-suite bathroom so "outside" means on the bedroom wall, which they do not want.

I'll see him next Tuesday and see if he will go for "in the cupboard down the corridor" since there will rarely be any need to touch the timer.
