all,

you have an existing db where the met and main bonds terminate. You're then asked to fit an additional db, you split the tails and fit an earth block. Is it ok to leave the main bonds in the first db, because in theory you have moved the met to now be the earth block?

O.

Any reason you can't move them to the new Earth Terminal?

Ian.

Just read through ,and I think I know what you mean. The main bonding in the first db now goes to an earth block you have installed, as long as this is connected to the met all you need to do is run a 16mm from this block to the new db.

There is no requirement to bond each db providing they are each connected to the met.

I hope that helps you.

hi

Basically the original met was in db1 - with earth conductor and main bonds going there. Db2 is introduced. The earth conductor now goes to an external earth block. The earth block connects to each db. But the main bonds are still connected to db1 - and not the earth block which in theory is now the new met.

Is there an issue with the main bonds still going to db1 and not the new met earth block?

O.

No that will be fine they do go to the met via your 16mm main earth!

so all is well
