Hello,

Hope this is ok to post here ?

I'm 16th edition qualified, but after a while not working I'm looking to update to 17th edition and get the dreaded part P thing. Do i need to get myself on a full time course or is there any other way.

cheers, Baz

depends on how your 16th ed qualified...

with Elecsa, you can join with 2381 and plenty knowledge which will be checked on assessment

i think you hav til next year to get 2382

this is going well, I was after info about courses.
well what would you like me to say? your question has been answered.

you asked what you need to be part P reg'd, i asked you what quals you have, and the quals you have are enough for some providers. some may require 2391 though

when did you pass your 16th ed? ?:|

there is a timescale (think it may be 2000 but I could be wrong? :( ) which means you can do the short 1 or 2day 17th update course. :|

A word of warning, you may be able to do a one day course, but how much are you going to learn in a day? your are going to be taught to pass a multi gues exam a couple of hours later.

All your work is going to be based around your underestanding of this book so as i see it the more you know the better. if you can afford the money and time do the three day course alot more value for money as i see it. On my course we started at the front and went to the back in 2.5days. Stopping the discuss in the group if someone didnt quite understand something. Well worth it in my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong Blushing

2382 is an open book exam, it's purpose is to confirm that you are capable of finding the relevant reg in the BRB, which is not quite the same as understanding the regs

I'd agree that the longer you can spend with those who can interpret its meaning the better you will understand how to apply your trade safely

special location : passed 16th edition 2007.

Scam is a shortened more appropiate way of saying scheme

"scam provider" SIC; AndyC you have confused him :^O

It's a Part P scheme provider e.g. NICEIC, Napit, Elecsa to name but a few, just like Corgi (now Gas Safe) is for Plumbers, but more choice and mostly unknown to ''Joe Public" ; \
