On the re-wire I mentioned over on the other thead I had a few external accessories to fit;

bulkhead lights, decorative lanterns & socket outlets..

Parts of the outside walls were that pebble-dash bumpy render stuff...

which can cause plastic fittings to distort if you tighten them up to much!

A little tip I use is 1/2 or 3/4 inch tap washers as spacers between the accessory and the wall to accomodate the uneven parts!

they can be brought in bags of 100 from our friends over at S/F or all good plumbing merchants!!

Just wonderd if anyone else has special favorite tips for fixing or installing in tricky spots??? ?:|

Nice tip. :) Perhaps 'Tips and Tricks' should become a sub-forum! You should suggest it, I'd second it. B)

Just to add tap washers are especially usefull if fitting an MK masterseal double socket outlet on a bumpy wall.

They dont need much distortion to stop the cover from closing properly!!!B)

even 2 or 3 deep 3/4 washers can provide a firm base that dosnt look to ugly!

I'd "Third" it. :D

Maybe in a thread where you have to register for using it or better still a password protected thread or one set up just for sparks?

Suggest it in the appropriate place - let's see what the general view of it is?

Hey, specloc:The second line was actually "now i`m there!"

I think you find they echo the 'now i'm here' two or three times

(going left to right accross the ole stereo speakers)

before singing the 'now i'm there' line...

which is also echoed ..

(I think this time right to left!)

At least thats what they sing my copy of queens greatest hits..
