my current insurer Directline, have sent the renewal and have increased the price by near £150!!!
No changes to policy details at all??

Time for a new insurer me thinks.

Any suggestions?

First one out of the book?
Seems it is now the new norm, stay loyal to a company and watch the premium go up, switch and watch it go down.
My mother used to pay £750 p/a for house insurance, I went on line (she doesn't like new fangled stuff) I got the same cover for £150

Same with SKY TV every year it goes up, phone up and tell them you want to leave, watch the price go down, mind you we did leave, it kept going up and up ended something like £80 / month, it was £30 at the start, we now have free sat at a cost of £0/ month

I know what you mean with SKY, profit racketeering company if ever there was one!

As for van insurance, do the cheaper insurers offer the same level of insurance?

Have a look on confused.com , comparethermarket, moneysupermarket etc.
Be wary that prices can increase for the silliest of things - start dates, occupation, area you live
