Hello Gentlemen & Ladies,

My Brother-In-Law has borrowed a multi-tester of some sort off of his Father.

Unfortunately - the batteries have only just died on him. It's an old, but faithfull, G.P.O tester.

He is having trouble locating replacements for it. :(

The details of the batteries are as follows...

1st Battery:

G.P.O N

Admin, would not the G.P.O. number 26 be a specialised battery manufactured for just them or others like them?

I do know that some companies used to do this (dont know if any still do) to stop their equipment being used by non employees in the case of the equipment being stolen.

Just a thought mate. :)

The U10 is a standard zinc chloride I think it was blue?

Oh No. I did take some picture os them Last night - But they are on my Sister's Camea.

I will get the B.I.L, to email them to me later.

The #26 battery, is nearly 4 months OLDER than me, Nige.

There has got to be some out there? :(

My B.I.L mentioned that he was going to try them. Possibly Today.

4 months?

Blimey mate your 36, I thought that you was well older.

Lets hope there are some somewhere. :)

36?

I am 33 Nige - 34 on Christmas Day.

PS - I forgot to add that B.I.L has bought a similar one from Maplin. (

Sorry mate, I went out with the missus after work & am a bit tired, zee ole grey cells are pleading with me to rest.

Thats right, I knew I had seen them somewhere before & I think they were also used in some bike lights too?

Here is the Eveready U10, Slips...

Have you managed to get the batteries?

If not and you can let me know what the meter is (a pic would help) I will see what I can do as I work for BT and so may be able to find something suitable and order it for you.

Thanks gt67 - I managed to find the U10 and my B.I.L managed to get a replica of the other one - Thanks again.
