Any ideas what the best software to use to design a web site.

i used dreamweaver for mine, did the job and its fairly easy to do a basic one.

Dreamweaver again. Mine wasn't done with it but only have a 1 page site at the mo courtesy of my host.

Dreamweaver is one of the professionals prefered choices.

To a newbe to webdesign it may at first appear to be overwhelming

Here is a good free site for tutorials on dreamweaver.
