For those of a certain childhood era, before channels 4,5 and freeview etc ever existed, there were certain people whose faces and voices were 'The Benchmark' of quality children's entertainment. One such cornerstone of this environment has already passed away this year, (John Noakes), And now a second one has also gone to join John at that great BBC children's broadcast studio in the sky, Thoughts and best wishes to the wider family and relatives of Brian Cant. He was another unique genius at catching children's imagination through classics such as; Play School, Play Away, Camberwick Green, Trumpton, Chigley and I'm sure he read a few Jackanory stories as well. RIP Brian.
