Hi, ive just finished installing 12 x 240w jinko panels (second hand) for my semi-off grid diy setup. Im looking to add battery backup. I Was initially going to go for lead acid storage (8 x trojan t105's), but have decided to go for lithium as my inverter is capable and lithium just seems a better solution for me due to the flexibility of the batteries.

The inverter is 24v for charging, so either 12v in series and parallel or preferably 24v in parallel if needed.

Ideally i would like about 10kw of storage and to use octopus go 7.5p tarrif to charge overnight for 4 hrs when needed. 10kw of lithium is not cheap though.

I cant use pylontech batteries as apparently they shut down after 15 mins if there is no bms communication. (according to bimble solar) and the bms software for my inverter seems not to be finished yet - no supprises there from a chinese inverter.

So i probably wont end up using bms comms, although im told the bms will still do its job, as should the inverter when i enter in the correct parameters for the battery, so, shouldnt be a problem for most batteries.

There are plenty of options in the u.s, for half the price, but over here things are limited and expensive, so i was wondering what you guys use?

Would it be possible for you to list your make and model and voltages of your battery banks? (and how much they cost if purchased seperatly from your system?)

Thanks 😁😁😀😀👍👍

(im considering SOK batteries atm as they seem to have a very good rep and are now available over here.

https://diysolarforum.com/threads/a...se-wulills-200ah-24v-lifepo4-batteries.35648/Risky - but under £2000 for nearly 10kw storage is a pretty good price! - assuming they last. .)
