if its a circuit of sockets i would give it a code 2.

Thanks SW & all, it's radial circuit supplying 2x twin sockets in a loft conversion, split load board on the RCD side.....

I think Andy was thinking that instead of coding it that you could just stick it in as a spur from a ring MCB.... Easy fix;)
Ah, now i understand!! Thanks again....

code 2 from me,

now if you had 4 heaters plugged in, I'd go for a 1. every situations different.

Out of interest Andy, would you code it 1 if it was only supplying 1 socket?
if it only feeds 1 DS then its no different from a spur from a 32A MCB.

Im not so sure about that,

if its on a 32 on its own then I would argue not, its a defined radial circuit with an overrated protective device............

Can't you just change with a spare 20a you may have in the van and put it on the price of the PIR your doing.

Unfortunately not, it's for a letting agent who wants it coded then quoted. if i get the report spot on it could mean a fair bit of work....

If it was the only thing making the cert unsatisfactory I would just correct it and fit a 20a mcb
