Hi guys, just about to start offshore, any offshore sparks on here?

Not actually working on rig equipment, been contracted by an agency to rewire a OPERATIONAL rig in stages with a maintenance company?

Expect a lot of SWA and 3 phase?

The mind boggles!

fish? :D

waves? ;)

seagulls? ?:|

maybe?????? :^O :^O:^O:^O

never worked offshore so I can offer no help to you on this on m8! :(

I remember someone on this ere forum saying you couldn't take Knives on a rig....

But that just about sums up my total knowledge of offshore! :p :p

LOL TY :)

Knives are permitted as have to take tools including a stanley style knife :)

So there ya are, you have learnt something today :)

We do have an Oil Rig Spark on here (He still works on one).

But I can't, for the life of me, remember who it is. :(

Of Course it Specs, It's our Ally. :_|

I would scan the documentation I have just received which clearly states a stanley knife of similar, hell rewiring a rig which I presume is mainly SWA it is a 100% requirement.

Its possible that as we are rewiring a rig and not permanent staff this is the reason, I have no idea. I can understand the safety side but hell, most machines offshore are far more dangerous than the humble stanley. Health and safety gone mad.
