So....

Not crime of the century but with the FF thread receiving renewed attention I thought I'd drag this old chestnut up.

In the words of some old paedo: can you see what it is yet!?

It's in easy reach of many little hands as it is situated at my MIL's place.

Also note the hook for the blind cord to stop the little ones from hanging themselves....

Missing lamp in the standard lamp so any little fingers can wander into a live BC or ES lamp holder?

I have long thought if we were SERIOUS about electrical safety, BC and ES lamp holders would have been replaced by a format with shrouded pins like a GU10.  but on the other hand, everyone knows NOT to put your finger in a light socket.

A bit like down under it's normal to have a socket next to a shower for a hair dryer, and they know if you are dumb enough to take the hair dryer into the shower then you deserve to be electrocuted.
