Meter------------25mm tails---------5419 isolator---------16mm tails to db------------DB with 60947-3 main switch

EICR requires details of the "Main Switch"  at the origin--------------5419 or 60947-3

  "          "               "      "   "    " Meter Tails"    "  "       "    ---------------25mm or 16mm

Well i have just done an EICR on a " new to me" site

came with original EIC

mainnswitch.          5419.         Actually a 400a 60947-2 MCCB

insulation resistance.............n/a

all RCD trip times are noted for x1...........x5 is noted as n/a........trouble is there are NO RCDs on site

Ipf increases the further you get from the source (according to the EIC)

just loving my job, loving it, loving it, loving it!

why the frick do we bother?

yes i think that sometimes and other times the other way.

If 5419,  the 60947-3  doesnt get entered on the cert.  Im sure it should.

If instead it was a Switch Fused Isolator,  then it used to get a mention in the old periodics in the grey bit at the beginning of the test result sheet.  I still input this on the new sheet but i dont think im supposed to.

The Test result sheet says "DB identity" or something as if all input relates to this DB,  which then makes me think 60947-3 should be entered again.

The main switch is the 5419   meter tails 25mm ...  move on ... have a drink ..file it away forever .

I've come across main switches with no BS or EN  to be seen ..........you can Part Pee about forever with all this paper shuffling  stuff ...I put " No idea"  in the Main Switch  BS   box and file it .      If someone feels the need to know the BS number of this obscure switch they can get off their fat ass and track it down .

Its the same with main cut-out fuses , it may say 100A  on the carrier but unless you yank it out and have a look it could be an 80 or a 60A also .

Im with Deke,

if there is no BS number on it its N/V [not verified]

same with main fuse, its ALWAYS N/V on my certs.

sealed or not, I dont pull it to actually check, its not my problem.

Not asking about obscure BS numbers or fuse ratings i just want to be correct in the details i enter on my certs for the main switch etc..all the at the origin stuff,  before i get some know it all telling me im doing it all wrong.

Eg;  it may also ask you the csa of the earthing conductor at the origin,(which could be 25mm),  but then the cert doesnt ask what size the csa is for the earthing conductor for the DB. (which is 16mm)
