Any suggestions as to a good, cost effective, PAT tester?

Just been offered 100 offices - PIR & PAT

Don`t currently do PAT, but this`ll make it worthwhile :DPray

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Thanks

What you looking for? erm....A PAT tester would be good!

Cheap and cheerful?

Yes, and Yes, hopefully.

All singing all dancing?

Would be nice, but HORRIBLY expensive........

Label printing?

Who's Pat? And why is everyone "Testing" her?

Well........

I`m hoping m8 :) :)

I know the "how-to"; I`m simply not up-to-date on the actual testers.

Last one I had my mitts on was circa `87 :( :(

And yes, buddy, they`re not too cheap. :(

spose you could have a few of these Guiness DrinkGuiness DrinkGuiness Drink

then log on to screwball

then order one of these Meggers for

To get you started i would go for something like the seaward primetest 100

Its not downloading so youll have to record your results manually or use input software, but its cheaper to buy, does the job and if you only plan to use it now and again its more cost effective

Martyn

I don't do much pat testing. I have a old clare tester had it years. If its only a one off job you maybe better off hiring one. But if i was going to do a lot of testing i think i would get one that prints the lables off and stores results.

Batty

I would go for the Megger Pat4 DV, just got one a couple of weeks ago, no regretts, lovely piece of kit, bar code scanners and download to your Pc to do good certs and makes things so easy when you come back next year to re test.

Go for it

Welcome to the forum, a1guvner.

Can I be cheeky and ask how much they are Please?

Thanks Batty. Once they`ve done the FRA, we`ll know more - just wanted some ideas. My gut reaction was the fluke - I like the 1652 that I`ve got; and the 6200 looks the mutts nutts;)

I love mine too. :p Gawd knows, it took me long enough to save for it. Still, it's mine now. :D

Martyn, I use the Smartpat 5500, it is an excellent machine with a built in 3.5" floppy drive, can be used with a bar code scanner thus making the time spent at job less than it would be if you were manually entering all results.

Personally I think that it is the best one on the market at this time.

If you look on my website mate you will see a pic of it there.

Regards Nige. :)
