Just installed windows 7 on my laptop (partition)

Any one else using this?

I am actually impressed with it! its the x86 version Ultimate :)

Much quicker and runs more smooth than my vista did! (then again i did have a full 500gig Hard disk! lol

Any one running it and what's ure thoughts?

I'm running it and cant see any difference I was 30% ram on vista 29% on windows 7 so it is true that it uses less ram (lol) it doesn't load quicker. snap tool I could live without

dragging the open window to the top to make it full frame takes more clicks and time than just clicking the full button at the top .

saying all that the only good thing I see is the slide show of your background.

I have only been using it for 3 days as it was a free upgrade for my PC but I would have been disappointed if I had bought it

Ive not actually bought it. and no not illegal copy.

Partners dads a Microsoft partner, and he got it free with 25 serial keys :D

I do think its much quicker than vista though and easier to use. But thats just me. I hated vista from day one, it needed too many processors running in background.

Mine doesn't get effected really with ram, im running 4GB ram and a 1 tera-bite Hard disk.

I installed it when it first came out and un-installed it. Load of carp.

There was a messge through from msn a few days ago - invited me to download Windows 8.

I thought it must be a "Dodgey" E-mail from scammers as Windows 7 is the one of the moment. But it wasn't.

I am sticking with XP too.

Have I got confuddled here? I thought Windoze 7 was actually an addon thingy McBobby that we used in conjunction with our XP.

Ie: Windoze or FIrefox etc?

Windows 7 is a full new Operating systems, latest from Windows

I think Admin you are thinking about internet explorer 8 and not windows 7

I see - Thanks Gents. No, I am sticking to my Xp - Thanks.

Just upgraded my main PC to 7 and got a new laptop with it already on, transfered Amtech onto the laptop so I can take it out when necessary and it appears initially that it wont run on (either) Windows 7 or 64 bit, I bet my last penny I'll need a 300 quid upgrade to run it. Other than that I dont think its that much better than Vista, maybe a bit q

quicker but very similar to look at from first impressions. I thought it would be graphically more impressive

It will run as windows 7 has the option to run anything that ran on XP.

There is an option to boot a programme in "xp mode" Once done once, it knows all the time.

Although dont get that issue with the x86

Been running it since Beta, only thought is it is what Vista should have been.
I agree with that one!

i love some of the desktop features in windows 7 lol. couldnt be without them now!

Well I upgraded my eldest daughters laptop to windows 7 at the weekend...

(she was back from Uni, and had been having some probs with PC),

did a wipe of the the lot, repartitioned the disk & stuck it on windows 7...

All loaded fine.. no immediate problems..

When she comes back at Christmas I shall find out how well she has found it...

Or NOT!? :( :|
