OK, one beer down and into the second (Fuller's Honey Dew) and the mind's working OT.

The video calls for "2 gauge" cable to rewind the microwave's secondary. Assuming they mean AWG then that's about 35mm sq if I'm right. But this is a US site so 115VAC on the primary? The video reckons 2V out at 800A. This is the video where they rewind the trannie:

I know where there's a broken microwave - roll on tomorrow!

 
And the scrap Daewoo 700W microwave is now missing this. Easy hacksaw job to separate the "I" from the "E". Continuity on the primary at least (circa 2.5ohms):

Just got to slip it into the oven for half an hour to soften things when "she's" not around!  :lol:

Then add a temporary secondary winding add some 230VAC and work out Np.
