wireless N routers range with G devices

while i fully understand to gain the benefit of extra bandwidth and the full potential of extended signal strength/range. a wifi N router and N enabled device (laptop) will be needed.

however

bandwidth aside. will the range be that much better when using a N draft router with only G spec wifi laptops?

Your N router will talk to a G device at G performance dependant on distance and objects blocking the signal, an N device has a theoretical 300m range if nothing between router and device
