Hi everyone ,

I have a question regarding wiring a switch to some lights I have.
I have a switch which has different abilities such as horn , lights , indicators. I need help with the wiring diagram.

Do I have give each device power and switch the negative or the positive ? (Which one )

I have attached a Picture of the switch and lights and horn I plan to use and I will soon post a bad diagram if I am able to understand it of how I would connect it to see if you agree or disagree ? I’m still learning day by day.

Thanks for any support in the matter

Are the switch and the light meant to be a pair? i.e. designed to work with each other? The rear light appears to be common cathode - you feed +ve into the various light circuits to illuminate them. The switch however also appears to be common cathode so wouldn't work, if the switch however is just a switch, theres no reason it cant be fed with a +ve supply into the common.
Id be tempted to check it out on a bench with a low power power supply.

No they were all bought separately, I just assumed they would be switchable as I though a switch is a switch :-( do I need to return them or do you think they will work together ? Thanks for your helpful reply

It seems very complicated , would you be able to show me a wiring diagram of connecting maybe the front light and horn to the switch. ? As the horn on the switch has 2 wires ? But the horn and light combined unit I have only 3 as 2 must be for powering the headlight and horn and 1 for signal to horn to tell it to sound. This seemed simple I thought at first but the more I look I feel lost. I just need to see a diagram as to how it should be connected. Just the front light and horn with the switch. And I can start from there.

It's a tough one to sort remotely without full information. I'm not sure where you live, if you want to stick them in a jiffy bag I could probably sort them for you.

Oh wow that's a very nice offer of you , just wondering where do you live ? Thanks

I’ll have a look when they arrive john and see what I can think of and then maybe worst come to worse if your offer is still available maybe I’ll send them over :) thank you so much for your support

No problem at all, it's just sometimes nigh on impossible to try and suss this out remotely.

Really, I know the place, are you Lincolnshire through and through or moved in?
Nah, I’m a Yorkshireman born in Rotherham, lived in Doncaster, Nottingham and then Gainsborough. I did live in Corfu for a year too. We’ve been in Gainsborough 32 years now so I have my carrot cruncher citizenship.
