I've been using a wheel mouse on my PC for years. Many many years.

But today, I've discovered a "new" feature.

I only mention it here, in case there are others as thick as me that have never realised it either.

When browsing a web page, I scroll up and down with the wheel. that can be a a pain sometimes wearing out your finger and the wheel.

Well, the enlightenment:

PRESS the wheel.

A little icon appears on the screen, and you can now scroll up and down by moving the mouse.

How good is that.

Right.  Honesty time. Own up who else was also so thick they never knew that either?.  :innocent

Who uses a mouse these says? Come to think of it who uses a tower pc to need a mouse?

Still glad you have learned something new today Dave. Soon they'll have smartphones and tablets up in the far north!

something else for you Dave,

when you highlight some text simply move to where you want it and click the wheel to paste it.

no messing about with having to keep clicking copy and paste etc.

I find I still am much faster typing and finding my way around on either the laptop or the desktop PC.  Touch screen mobiles and pads are like Win8 - still early days.  That's why Apple have an iPad keyboard but it's OTT price wise...

Apples Magic Mouse is tops.
