    Thanks for all your comments.thats very kind. The wiring at some of the sockets is poor in that there is green deposits on the copper conductors and some of the terminations are tight and there is no slack to make off again.. I don't see anyway round that unless I just replace the worst cables...

    Thanks for your response Kerching..Yes I did realise that and I know I haven't got Part P. Planned to maybe rewire and then get board changed tested , inspected and certificated by appropriately qualified person. I may go down the route of getting it all done by appropriately qualified person...
