Sector was sold by Senate as an own brand, the plastic enclosures were not the best but internals were 100% Electrium / Wylex so not what you could call 'known poor quality'
I have just 'harvested' a similar board with 2 RCDs (Type AC) that tested fine iirc (will check), if you want 1 you can have it just cover postage, but fwiw I think the corresponding Wylex are identical . I wouldn't have a problem fitting one of those and you get the benefit of Type A upgrade .
Sad news. He was hugely helpful on a project I was involved with and gave his time and extensive knowledge despite a busy schedule. He gave me the confidence to see it through to a very successful outcome even though I was a little out of my depth..! A great loss to the electrical community..RIP
I made the OP an offer of a deal on all I had, even going so far as to make a special listing on ebay for him....he was apparently all keen but then didn't buy them...timewaster..
Locked as OP has stopped posting
My main concern being asked to add a new circuit or alter existing to one of the Newlec boards I have fitted as they have 63A type AC (I think) RCDs, I wonder which RCBOs fit? they were all dual RCD high integrity that I fitted so have spare RCBO ways. More ebay research required now my interest...
Thats interesting, I had never clocked the Newlec ones were based on the powersafe rather than homesafe...I actually only ever fitted 1 powersafe board and 3 or 4 sparkly Newlec ones..I do have the Havells catalogues somewhere from that era so will compare the pics to the odd couple of spare...
Pretty sure thats the 6KA version for the 'Homesafe' range of domestic boards...fitted a handful of these boards as well... much to my chagrin...try finding any bits for the short lived 'Newlec' version of those..the sparkly paintjob drew me in...
I fitted a Havells Powersafe DB for a commercial customer just before they pulled out of the UK market without any real warning. I hastily purchased a few likely spares including I believe one of the ones you are after, doubtful he will part with it though..but I will ask.
I know its not...
A 'pudding joint' by which I assume you are referring to a round bakelite JB is unsuitable for this purpose in any location and would be a 'bodge'. ,Silly MF confected regs designed to achieve precisely nothing in terms of real world safety but merely stimulate sales of increasingly brand...
As far as I am aware there is no approved MF assembly for 3 or even 2 sets of conductors in 6mm on a 32A circuit, (ie a huge proportion of cooker circuits out there split into 2 appliances.) Obvs the best option is to use a dual outlet in an accessible position but kitchen refurbs being what...
