My understanding is you offer a PIR (declined in this instance)
Then you change the CU completing the minimum tests stipulated in the electrical safety council best practice guide C/W 7671 of course
I'm just in a quandary about this "do i leave him with no lights/do i reconnect and detail on...
sorry Dave facts once again lost in the drivell.
I've changed the CU
I've done the CU tests (R1 +R2/IR/Zs etc)
He's coming home soon and i want to know if i can leave the low readings ccts energised (as they were with old fuseboard) just to give him adequete lighting
Then negotiate future work
Howdy guys
doing a C/U change at a job where 3 lightin ccts have bad readings 1./ dead short (original fuse blown) obviously not re-connecting that one, 2/3./ have .21 and .4 IR readings. The house is unoccupied and pretty mouse infested at the moment.
Obviously strongly recommending full...
I know it's not often that I am confident that I am correct in what i say/ask on here but page 8 of my Part P doc clearly states (under additional notes part (a) )
Notifiable jobs include new circuits back to C/U and extensions to circuits in kitchens and spec locations (bathrooms etc) etc...
I know this is probably going to get slated but here we go. Why not spur down from whatever socket supply circuit that you are using, i know that I've done it in the past and advised the customer that the circuits that have no CPC should ideally be rewired.
Cheers
Don't use Eddies, usually CEF or Wallsall and nearly always get them to deliver to site.
Don't get much of a chance to communicate with other sparks, hence some of my seemingly naive questions.
I'll contact manufacturers this week and start the ball rolling.
Hi guys
I'm probably (as usual) several months behind you guys on this. Not seen it discussed though.
Apparently there are some mcb's that can catch fire and wylex are recalling them.
How the f.... does that work. Are we supposed to trace every CU change/extension/upgrade that we've carried...
