Doing a rewire job. Head stuck under floorboards threading new cables. Didn't notice a nail sticking out of one of the joists. Caught one of my nostrils on it when pulling my head out.......

Just had an email update from the homeowner regarding this. The DNO have held their hands up, confirmed it is a TNC-S supply and admitted their installer made a mistake. Another installer has now reinstated the earth connection. 

Service head was replaced six months ago.  I agree, it seems incredible the DNO wouldn't flag this, but the customer isn't someone who asks a mate to do any electrical work. The consumer unit was changed by a registered electrical contractor who's still in business and by all accounts seems a...
