    You could do a fused spur (13amp) off the ring, use an 2.5mm SWA to feed an RCD double socket in the shed. You would have to do another fused spur (3 amp)from that socket to feed a light.

    Using on site guide pg 166 Table 9a you could say resistance value for 1.25mm would be 15.1mohm/metre so (15.1 x 15) / 1000 = 0.23ohms. Or measure using r2 method and low ohms meter

    When I was working as a subbie a during 2010 when work was getting hard to find, if I didn't have my jib card I would have been out of work because the sites I got on required it or you would have to work as a mate/ improver.

    EFLI is a live test you perform once you have got satisfactory results doing the "dead" tests. Best to speak to your college tutor seeing as there is a shock hazard doing this test.

    Hello to our New Members...

    hello I'm alan, I've been an installation electrician (mainly commercial) for 5 years (JIB + 2391) , did a career change (37years old). Currently working as a maintenance electrician as it seems a bit more secure at the moment. Got to say this forum is an excellent resource.
