Domestic PIR & maximum permitted Zs on a TT system

I usually put 1666 ohms (for a 30mA RCD). My assesor is quite happy with this. If I record the tabulated value and then record the actual reading obtained, Easycert usually flags it up. So in my opinion it is acceptable to record the 1666 ohms value. GS

Just looking through some of the Tysoft certs earlier. Emergency lighting cert. Where it asks for the instrument number of the meter used to measure the lux levels. It states "Where verification requirement V8 is carried out by measurement, details of instruments MUST be recorded" What other...

    Wireless MCP

Evening all. I am planning on installing a Rafiki Twinflex fire alarm system. 2 Zone panel, few smokes/MCP's etc. Due to the nature of the building I was interested in knowing whether it would be possible to install a couple of wireless MCP's. As far as I am aware Rafiki don't make any...

    Spur from a light

Do the instructions mention a 3A fused spur? The fan wont use much more than a standard 100W lamp. Dont think i'd bother with the fused spur. GS

    First private job!!

Something else to concider. You will obviously have more than 1 board. What type of sub main will you be running to each board? I'd assume it would have to be armored cable as RCD protection on the sub main could leave a floor without lights or power should a fault occur. Unless of course the...

    Main protective bonding conductors

Interesting posts. Thanks for all the replies & opinions. So maybe its best to install 10mm main protective bonding conductors to all services entering the property regardless of whether they're plastic or not. That way everybody's happy. The only time it may become a bit of an issue is...

    Main protective bonding conductors

This is what I thaught. Seems like everybody has different opintions/views on the subject. If you have a plastic feeder pipe and you are only bonding the internal metal work to ensure it is at 0 potential then would you still bond it 600mm from where it enters the peoperty? Would there be any...
