How long can we carry on?

You all need to read the details of any income protection scheme from the government very carefully. There is no scope with employees to do some work, you either send them home to do nothing, or pay them reduced hours (with no top up from the government). Hypothetically if I had 10 members of...

So we're not supposed to go to the pub

@apprentice87 Interesting insight. The noises I am hearing is the people who are getting sick, needing intestine treatment and dying are the ones you would expect - the elderly or those with existing medical conditions. My current thinking is the best thing for me in my 30's and decent health...

Extending earth cable for wall socket

It's not great TBH. Not a RCD in sight. Old Moeller board in a very tight space. Have never done a full CU swap but considering it. For a small industrial unit wired a bit odd - 3 socket and 2 lighting circuits. Now also has a 50A water heater

Extending earth cable for wall socket

Yes - how have you joined the 3 earth wires? What you have done is fine as long as the cable is the correct colour, size and joined properly.

    Thoughts about 12th December ...

The issue with that is the lack of representation of rural areas. I personally can't see why anyone would vote anything other than conservative. Lib Dem are anti-democratic and want to cancel Brexit. Labour party is a mess.

    Cable in concrete slab

I was planning on using a single length of copper pipe INSIDE the plumbing conduit I linked. No concrete in contact with concrete. Maybe I have misunderstood the concept of plumbing conduit.

    Cable in concrete slab

The run for the water is about 2.5m so I will take a single 3m length of copper and bend both ends up, cover in plastic conduit and concrete in. I was thinking 4 inches, but I guess I could go to 6. I'll run cable and draw rope first. I'll know where they are and plan to be there long term...

    Cable in concrete slab

Redoing a conservatory. Want to move washing machine to a new stud wall. Neatest way will be a trench in the concrete slab for water and electric. How deep does that need to be? Foot traffic only, will have commercial vinyl floor glued on top. Can water and electric share a trench - if so how...

    Incorrectly wired RCD

It's not me! Ah, back when I was a simple member I figured all the mods out. I took it as a little personal challenge.

    Incorrectly wired RCD

I've upgraded his account so the OP can post pictures. At one time we were getting multiple people registering and spamming the forum. It was becoming too much for the admins and the mods. Some of them not very suitable for all audiences etc. In the grand scheme of things I'd rather doctor a...

    Air Line fittings

Yes the green one is an air riviter from Aldi. So the other will be 1/4" euro? That's grand. (all my air tools are on PCL, but since buying some electric impact wrenches I don't use air much)
