    Which export tariff and why?

Just received the August bill from Octopus - attached is a sample page showing the export rebate for that day in 30minute increments based on the smart meter readings. There is a similar page for every day covered by the bill.

    Which export tariff and why?

Ok, I'm on the Flexible Octopus Tariff for Import and the Agile Outgoing Octopus tariff for Export and I have now been paid for my exported energy from 14/07 through 06/08. I exported 299.87 kWh and was paid £71.07. That works out at 23.7p/kWh average for the period. (I have not yet received...

    Which export tariff and why?

I am waiting for my first bill to show my exported energy. Octopus have confirmed I started on Export Agile on 13/07/22 and I can see the export on the Octopus website/app, but they are unable to access it to generate a bill at the moment. I am assured the export data is not lost and to be...

    Solar System Review

Hi Bob, expecting my first bill in the next few days when all should be revealed and I'll post the outcome - cheers(y)

    Why considiring the ROI?

All the above. SWMBO didn’t like the look, I reckoned too expensive, ROI is too long, etc. Then, after some issues with Scottish Power over my smart meter and as a consequence, paying more attention to my bills, came the realisation that I was being cavalier with my energy use and the increase...

    Solar System Review

Hi Bob, yes it is a Solis hybrid inverter. I have only been on the Agile tariff for a week so no bill has yet been generated, however I believe the import cost is around 35p/kWh and varies - see this website(www.octopusreferral.link/octopus-energy-agile-tariff) for details and a link to the...

    Solar System Review

Octopus Agile export rates for today - not that high every day though and there will be little or no export in the wintertime - make leccy hay while the sun shines! 🙂

    EV charger

It has been clear for some time that there will be a hole in the tax take as EV’s become more popular. Extract from article in today’s paper- “Electric cars may be fitted with tracking devices as part of a proposed pay-per-mile road taxation scheme, it emerged last night. The government’s...

    PV Installer Question

Thanks again, binky - that's something I didn't know and gives more reassurance.(y)

    PV Installer Question

Thanks binky - I'm leaning that way too. They are quoting, for the same price as my current preferred installer, 14 Hyundai 400W panels instead of 16 JA Solar 360W and 7.2Kw Pylontech vs 6.4 kW which led to my query (I'd prefer Korean panels to Chinese as they may have a more reliable warranty-...

    PV Installer Question

Does anyone have any knowledge of Alternativeenergyservices based in Rainham? They have quoted me for a PV plus batteries system, but the salesmanship seems a bit high pressure.

PV and Battery storage system quote - experts views on the quality of equipment quoted greatly appreciated

I have received two similar quotes - one for 4kWp with 5kw batteries for £8k and the other for 5.8kWp and 6.4kW batteries For £10k. Both propose the same make of kit with a Solis inverter capped at 3.68 export. I am now with Octopus Energy and planning to get on the tariff with SEG at 7.5p/kWh...

PV and Battery storage system quote - experts views on the quality of equipment quoted greatly appreciated

Thanks for your advice. I have requested quotes from a further 15 installers but only one has replied, asking for further info, which I provided but have heard no more at the moment. Anyway, onward and upward and thanks again.

PV and Battery storage system quote - experts views on the quality of equipment quoted greatly appreciated

Thanks very much for the fast response, binky - it seemed expensive to me too and the only other quote I received was for a 5.7kWp JA Solar system with 2 x 3.2kW Pylontech batteries and a Growatt inverter for 10K installed, but I understand you don't rate Growatt. Its becoming almost impossible...

PV and Battery storage system quote - experts views on the quality of equipment quoted greatly appreciated

I have been quoted the following by a local installer based on his looking at a Google maps view. I consume around 8000kWh a year and have a rosemary tiled south facing unshaded roof. SYSTEM QUOTATION Description Supply, Install & Certify an 8.00 kWp grid connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV)...
