What do you subbies all drive for work ?

Are you doing low miles? I’m the transit connect? Easier to keep on road ain’t it if miles are low per week. My car is 2009

What do you subbies all drive for work ?

No they don’t have vans. Get payed mileage and expenses and use cars. All on books. Going direct for them is an option but the travel is like 2 hours to a job and do your 8 or 9 hours then 2 or 3 hours back in some cases. Not always. I was an hour away all last year. But local work is finished

What do you subbies all drive for work ?

Ok bud so basically answer to 1 is No. No savings. Answer to 2 is I just sub to firms and turn up and get my tools out. Either direct or on agencies. I’ve worked for same firm this year but local work finished now. I do both. See an agency rate and negotiate or I ask for what I want from a firm...

What do you subbies all drive for work ?

I’m just curious about what sort of costs I should be expecting for van/car because I have used my old car up until now so all I’ve had to pay is fuel. But it’s coming to the end of its life so I’m trying to plan ahead. And see if it’s viable for me financially to stay self employed and have all...

What do you subbies all drive for work ?

No. I’m not the most stable of people in terms of finances so finance isn’t something I’m comfortable with incase work dries up

What do you subbies all drive for work ?

Hello it’s long time since being here. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on vans and cars for work? Is it a good idea to go down the finance route? Is it ok to drive a banger around and keep replacing and repairing? Everything is going up Isn’t it so I’m not sure what to do because I’m...

Commute distance to the office every morning?

I’m struggling with the self employed thing to be honest. I find it hard to interact with new people. I suppose you could call it a form of social anxiety. Who knows. But yes very uncomfortable and not at all something that comes natural. I’m very good on the tools. And that’s my strong point...

Commute distance to the office every morning?

Commercial solar installs? Not domestic? I’ve seen some jobs advertised for that but it says domestic. I would like to do that if it’s commercial

Commute distance to the office every morning?

I’m starting to see that the production maintenance has too much competition. Maybe better doing the commercial buildings maintenance. Or hospitals etc. I’ve worked in loads of hospitals. Money doesn’t look great on nhs thow 🙈. I’m sure I’ll get there eventually

Commute distance to the office every morning?

I do enjoy the job mate but I’m trying to do what suits the family and makes me happy at the same time. I love getting stuck in with big install projects mainly but because I don’t want to do loads of travelling I’m limited. It’s a tough one. Like today I’ve been looking at some facilities...

Commute distance to the office every morning?

Not sure mate. But every other job I’ve had direct it is a regular thing. Fetching materials. Or other kit. Picking people up.

Commute distance to the office every morning?

I’ve decided. The office is too far away.

Commute distance to the office every morning?

Depends what you want. I’m more bothered about the work life balance than the money. It is very good money thow

Commute distance to the office every morning?

I suppose it depends where the sites are located. It’s more the commute home I’m worried about. If don’t finish on a job until 5. Then gota get home. Or they want me to go to the yard before going home.
