    Time Switch Immersion Heater.

If "L" & "F" are Load & Feed then you have them in the wrong terminals

    Certification Software

I've used Electraform for a few years now..... never had a problem with it and they seem to be pretty much on the ball with updates

    Dual RCD

I had a customer who used to phone home twice a day whenever he was on holiday to check if the RCD had tripped due to an intermittent fault (and then phone the neighbour to reset it if it had).... I couldn't find much of a fault but he agreed to replace the single RCD protected board for a RCBO...

Using a EV to run your house

Some EV's have a capability that's called V2L (vehicle to load) This link will explain it https://topcharger.co.uk/vehicle-to-load-v2l-what-is-it-and-how-does-it-work/

    13A sockets for EVs

You can,,, the resistors are there to tell the charger what the lead is capable of carrying and will adjust the load accordingly... You can get 16A 1ph, 16A 3ph, 32A 1ph and 32A 3ph leads.... they all use the same plugs and sockets so there has to be a way to control it

    13A sockets for EVs

This is the only outdoor socket that I know of that is ”compliant” with 722 for supplies for EV charging,,,, however it’s fitted with an AC type RCBO so isn’t compliant

    13A sockets for EVs

Absolutley…. I’ve refused to fit regular sockets , several times, when I’ve known that they were wanting to charge an EV with them…. What difference would publicised 722 to the masses make, when not a single part of the rest of the regs are publicised?

    13A sockets for EVs

The average person? Absolutely not An electrician who works to the regs? Yes

    13A sockets for EVs

But they’re still going to need O-pen protection

    13A sockets for EVs

You need to look at 722 mate…. It covers all supplies for ev charging….. not just charge points

So will the ICE be banned or not?

I’m pretty sure that I’ve read somewhere that the amount of electric used to split water to make hydrogen is something like 7 times more than an EV would use to travel the same distance (if that makes sense)….. so Hydrogen, however it’s made, is a long way off being efficient enough

Back box too full for light switch to go on?

that looks like it'll fit with a bit of repositioning of the terminal blocks,,,, however Wago's would take up less space
  13. NozSpark

    Backwards step?

It’ll probably get to a point where that use RORO containers without doors, fill them with water and put the car in them until the battery has cooled down

How to get a copy of certificate

...and there's no obligation for any contractor to use their portal either,,, I've not used it for a good few years, and the NICEIC have absolutely no knowledge of any of the jobs that I do except for when I notify them for Part P or my assessor goes to look at any of them during my annual...

    EV charger

You did And if you go off that paper I quoted then the environmental tipping point is typically <50,000 miles (if you transpose the figures)

    Critique my system

I don't know much about solar,,, but if you are thinking about getting an EV I would seriously consider getting a myEnergi EDDI instead of the iBoost,,, it, and PV monitoring, tie in seamlessly with their Zappi 2 charge points

    EV charger

Just for Steptoe.... this is a quote from a report on "Effects of battery manufacturing on electric vehicle life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions".... I'm afraid that it somewhat disagrees with your 20 years statement An average electric vehicle in Europe produces 50% less life-cycle greenhouse...

    EV charger

OK,,, I get that you're a petrol head @steptoe, but some of the facts that you're coming out with are just plainly wrong. The environmental tipping point between EV and ICE is about 60,000 miles (new for new), after that the EV streaks ahead, while any ICE vehicle carries on polluting The cost...

    Unvented Cylinder Immersion Heater Replacement

personally I don't touch immersions whatever the case (except for the electrical side).... they can go sideways far too easily,,, and I'm not insured for them

    EV charger

A few figures for you the running costs of an diesel van getting 35mpg at £1.99 a litre works out to be £2558 per year the running costs of an electric van getting 3 miles/kWh at £0.29 per kWh works out to be £967 per year So an overall saving of £1591 a year at todays prices Couple that with...
