Using a EV to run your house

Ive seen a few posts suggesting that a EV can be used to run the electricity in your home
Can someone enlighten me how this could work and of any alterations need to be down to make this work

Some EV's have a capability that's called V2L (vehicle to load)

Theres only a few EV's can do it, I know the Nissan Leaf, Tesla and Jaguar I-Pace can, not sure about others.
