There is loads of that type of cable in my area,,,, mostly in the 70's 80's dormer type properties.... Neutrals looped at the fittings and lives looped at the switch

A very common fault with most alarms is that the backup battery needs replacing... they pretty much only let 5 years But you may need the engineers code to replace it

More to the point,,,, how do you think that an excessively high circuit R1+Rn might affect the operation of a MCB with regard to over current?

You can't just add a RCD to get your allowed Zs increased (for fault protection) as you still have to ensure that your (R1+Rn) is low enough so that you have adequate overcurrent protection too

You need a MFT that will do a 6mA DC RCD test... I have the Megger 1741+,   the model below (1741) can't test EVSE's.... there aren't many models that can do it I have the Megger one,,, but they're all pretty much the same really.... except for the Rolec one which is 💩.. it can't test 3ph and...

Thats a **** way of installing an EV charge point..... always install them with their own protection (as dictated by the manufacturer) other questions...... Have you got an EV charge point qualification? Have you completed any manufacturer training? do you have the specific tester and...

Do you know if it's an active or passive RCD? If you plug the pump in and then switch it off, ore remove the plug, what happened to the RCD?

You don't want to hear this, but you've connected it up wrong What tests have you carried out to ensure the safety of this addition?

Test the green and yellow wires again, but disconnected and not twisted together… it could be faulty sensors
