a 13a fused spur will limit the max current draw to 13a for anything connected after the spur unit. You would be better putting the spur at the point where the single cable comes from the ring if possible. Otherwise fit it before the first socket in the garage. Don't forget that as its outside...

Yes thats the next step. We have guests in the place at the moment. very busy so need a days break between people to do some proper investigation. It would explain the poor drying if theres water coming in all the time. I just wondered if theres an ongoing issue with these machines.

I have a Di-log tester the same as that, always been ok with them, used Steinel ones before that.  I was using it last week and the cable to the L2 probe had come away slightly from the body leaving a bit of bare conductor and I did get a belt off it, other than that concur about the fluke...

we use a form of it on the port. Its a variant of WD40 and comes in a spray tin. Also good for spraying periodically under the belt of my treadmill!

I think most 'public' charging points that aren't free use some kind of phone app for payments? I would be interested to know myself as I want to fit one at a holiday let.
