    Fused spur

a 13a fused spur will limit the max current draw to 13a for anything connected after the spur unit. You would be better putting the spur at the point where the single cable comes from the ring if possible. Otherwise fit it before the first socket in the garage. Don't forget that as its outside...

New Hotpoint washer dryer making banging noises

Thanks for your comprehensive reply Richard I think you are right. However, half an hours 'drying' with just a tea towel in it and still comes out damp? That cant be right. Its supposed to be oh so eco, but seriously, squirting fresh water in to aid condensation? so that water just going down...

New Hotpoint washer dryer making banging noises

New Hotpoint washer dryer making banging noises

Yes thats the next step. We have guests in the place at the moment. very busy so need a days break between people to do some proper investigation. It would explain the poor drying if theres water coming in all the time. I just wondered if theres an ongoing issue with these machines.

New Hotpoint washer dryer making banging noises

absolutely. first thing I did after unpacking. Other washing machine doesnt affect the pipes. The hotpoint is in a separate annexe and I can hear the pipes knocking on the other side of the house (quite a distance) Shop says if its more than 30 days since bought you have to take up with...

New Hotpoint washer dryer making banging noises

Model: RDG8643WWUKN Bought this from Appliances direct. High ratings for efficiency etc and reasonable price (About £350) so went ahead. When its running (on wash or dry) there is a bang on the water pipes every 15 or 20 seconds. The dryer is useless and a tea towel on its own is still wet...

Big brother controlling when I'm allowed a cuppa

Compressed natural gas, alternative to LPG but not quite as good. Saw a lot of them in NZ but don't think it really took off here.

Big brother controlling when I'm allowed a cuppa

What I am saying is that in the same way we have been ripped in the past, we will be ripped off again. Think about it.  Diesel, half the price of petrol and better MPGs, govt added incentives like lower road tax Then it went up once everybody was using it. Now costs more than petrol despite...

Big brother controlling when I'm allowed a cuppa

once everyone has smart meters and electric cars, do you think the price of electricity to charge your car will go up? Yes it will. I won't have a smart meter thanks, enough surveillance as it is.

    Whoops

I have a Di-log tester the same as that, always been ok with them, used Steinel ones before that.  I was using it last week and the cable to the L2 probe had come away slightly from the body leaving a bit of bare conductor and I did get a belt off it, other than that concur about the fluke...

    'Pay for' EV charge point

I think most 'public' charging points that aren't free use some kind of phone app for payments? I would be interested to know myself as I want to fit one at a holiday let.
