    Phantom voltage?

I have had this issue before with phantom voltages in 3 core and earth. Allot of the problems are the high impedance input on modern meters. Fluke make a Stray Volage Eliminator (SV225) which goes across the input of your digital meter and reduces the high impedance on the input, effectively the...

    RCD tripping problem

I have had a similar issue although not off an inverter. As above could be a loose connection, but in my case it was a faulty RCD in the distribution board. It checked out ok with test equipment but was intermittent, always at night with little load. Changed RCD and fault went away.

I think you should go back to college and ask your tutors. Then join the grown ups!!

Is Light Dimmer suitable for LEDs ?

Varilight LED dimmers all the way. You can mix and match lamps including incandescent!

    Insulation test

It sounds like a capacitance funny in the system but as others have said it falls well into the pass results.

KSR Lighting! NEVER AGAIN AND I WOULD ADVISE OTHERS NEVER TO WASTE THEIR MONEY

I have used KSR products with good results. I installed eight on one job I had one failure after three years. I replaced the unit and so far all ok. It seems the ones on soft start dimmers survive well but hard switched is where I had the failure.

    Replacement for lights "wiring hub"

Wago make a Large (double) enclosure which would be more than adequate for this Wagobox XLA.

    Re-siting bathroom light switch

Or Have both. Make it two way and put a dimmer outside the bathroom, so at night if you need to turn the light on you can dim it and you don’t have the noise at night from the pull switch!!

2 gang 1 way switch replacement

I think it’s probably missing the neutral. Either end in the switch or fitting probably screwed down onto the insulation.

    13a Sockets in bathrooms

Cheers guys. I thought that was the case, nice to double check. Just one thing “Fleeting” On it’s own RCD protected circuit or any RCD protected circuit?

    13a Sockets in bathrooms

Hi guys 13a sockets in bathrooms, I know need to be 3 metres from bath, shower and sink out of any of the zoned areas. It needs RCD protection, but can it be a dedicated RCD socket or does it have to be on a dedicated RCD (Distrubution board) protected circuit? I know it’s also notifiable. thanks

Circuit off but breaker not tripped - help please!

I agree with all as Special Location said but would replace the damaged double socket anyway, although it looks more like external heat damage.

    Doubts about Socket testing

These fuse finders have been around for years. Kewtech make one. I have a Martindale version of that in my kit. I rarely use it.

    No neutral continuity

I find it easier to work on it live to start. Split the ring at the furthest point and work back on each side you are then only working on one leg of the ring. Just easier to start and pin the area down

    Light switch wires

At a Guess. the two cables on left go to one switch, you need to look at the reciprocal switch and duplicate the red, blue and yellow in L1, 2 and 3 and the two reds in the other cable go across L1 and L2. The right hand cable again go into L1, 2 and 3 but you need to check the order in the...

    Memera 2000 63a Rcd

It might be worth checking the tails at the cut out havent become loose. I had this the other week. Did all the checks all ok. Then I had a look at incoming and the tails had been disturbed and become slightly loose. They had had this problem for years. It only happened occasionally and...
