    Do you have a 0-12v signal generator? I have used one before to imitate the signal and see if pump runs, although you may need a scope as I thinks this is pulsed signal rather than constant?

    I thought that perhaps if it was a temp sensor and wasn’t detecting heat it was shutting system down ?

    I’d the cylindrical sensor attached externally to the pipe? If so that’s usually a temp sensor. Could it be fitted on wrong pipe? Cold instead of hot?
