MPS to get extra £10k for working from home WTAF!

I went sole trader six months ago so no help from HMRC for me. I could try and claim income support at £94 a week but as I have an Army pension coming in I won't get it. Yet again the political class seeing us oiks off again, they need to remember they work for us and as such we should decide...

    Slap Fest

NHS staff parking should have always been free. 1. People hoarding food. 2. People throwing away food that's gone out of date since they hoarded it three weeks ago. 3. Holier than thou social media posts about kids meeting up in parks and joggers not giving people some distance. 4. 5G Corona...

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Data, phone and satellite will be fine in the same conduit. Running AC power next to data cables is problematic due to interference from the AC magnetic fields. Also the insulation rating of the data cable must be same as that of the AC cable which many aren't. If necessary they can cross at 90...

12 v cooker hood won’t work with the transformer I bought

Does the cooker hood not come with a power supply? By your description the transformer is too small, the manufacturer should state what size power supply is needed.

    No SIM card .

Take it out and clean the card and pins on the phone if you can using a pencil eraser. This tends to cure most SIM problems.

    G5 rollout ???

BT have either closed or mothballed huge parts of their estate, with technology getting better less space is required. All of my recent exchange work has been installing head end fibre racks for the street cabinets for the new 300mb system, the days of 1000 pair copper leaving the exchange are...

EICR on rental properties , further thoughts

Most complaints would be against unsatisfactory reports which would just clog the system up.

EICR on rental properties , further thoughts

And here's me about to set up just doing PIRs as no scheme registration required and I can do work during quiet telecoms periods, then someone decides I need to join a scheme... 🤨

    G5 rollout ???

Sky broadband uses the BT network with their own head end racks in the exchanges. Maggie stopped BT putting fibre into all our homes in the 80's putting us a round 20 years behind the rest of the world for domestic internet.

    G5 rollout ???

O2 and Vodafone spent hundreds of millions less than ten years ago to start mast sharing, they've had a fall out and are now going back to their old individual sites. As for the frequencies, exactly the same as previously used but due to bandwidth restrictions at higher frequencies and speed...

    Label printer?

In telecoms wrap around cable labels are normally required by customers, most popular is Brady as they do hard wearing labels in numerous sizes and styles. Sadly they normally retail for around £850+VAT new.  Mate of mine bought one and was moaning about the price, I then informed him I picked...

    TT Earthing issue

Is you PSSC enough to disconnect the OCPD within the required time for a TT system? Do you have additional protection? If the answer to both of the above is yes then you should be good to go. PSSC will be enough for short circuit faults and a 30mA RCD will be suitable for earth faults. For...

Good price, I've had one for around two years used daily and it's still going strong.
