    Hi all,  just an update on progress. Everyone here was right, there was a central screw hidden underneath. There isn't anyway you could access that screw without breaking the cap (poor design)! I got it off using a hammer and chisel and then just unscrewed the underlying Philips screw...

     just tried prising the cap off with a blade, a dental tool and a safety pin - you can't as there isn't enough of a gap. Any other ideas? might have to do it the old fashioned way  :shotgun:

    Thanks but how do I get the cap off? It's literally flushed to the plate!

    Hi prodave,  it is definitely attached through the middle, although I cannot see the screw head. The cover is flush with the plate so I don't see how I can access the screw without damaging the light. There are no side screws either. i don't understand why they use hidden fittings, it annoys...
