three phase dual rate meter for Economy 7 use

Good point. As i have never seen a split phase installation i forgot about it. Its 460 V ? or is it now 440  with the 'harmonised'  wording.  Even so, something is not correct wirh the 440 & 240v supplies

three phase dual rate meter for Economy 7 use

Do you know what your main fuse size is. It may say 60, 80 or 100 A on the outside, or it  may say nothing or be wrong but it will give us a clue.  However it seems so far quite posdjble to run your whole house of one phase & meter

    Bathroom Extractor Isolator

As mentioned above, this has been discussed many times.  The local isolator  is fitted due to the risk of injury by the mechanical movement  of the fan & not electric shock . This rule came about years  ago in relation to much bigger bits of kit than the puney 100mm bathroom fans that...

THE FLUE HAS BECOME DETACHED IN THE ROOF SPACE

I assume the viewing boxes are doors/traps/inspection hatch's  that have been part of the gas regs for a couple of years now. All joints in a flue have to be accesible for inspection.

three phase dual rate meter for Economy 7 use

Hi Robin Your descriptions are wrong for the phases.  Any phase to neutral is 230v and between any 2 phases is 400v. No such thing as 440v single phase.

    Self contained bell tamper

My own house sabt tamper  activated at 1.15am this morn  (and its .5 meter from our open bedroom window 🤐) Its a Flashguard  (XL from memory )  as its been up there 18 years & never touched it,  along with the Castle Meridian  panel just as  long except that has had 1 new batt.

    Self contained bell tamper

Can a dodgy battery in a SCB (not SAB)  cause a tamper ?

    Henly block

All the double pole 'Henlys' i see nowadays are branded RDL & all 10 holes are for 25mm cable.

    Anyone seen this before?

Once only had a rewire in a house made like that. Built late 70's in Hatfield. I think we Gripfilled and bonded everything in place

Might want to log this one for future use.

A few years back  it was a boiler  that told me there was reversed  polarity on a whole job . Boiler locked out when new meters were fitted. Cant remember all the details but previous sparks had reversed cables but taped correct colours  on  tails. When  the ends were  cut off and reconnected...
