thank you for your help with that Dave, it is being changed from a ceiling rose to one of those LED slunky things with the 4 leds on...how would he connect that inside the LED fitting?

yes its quite an old house so yes it is in the old wiring colours......he didnt make a wiring diagram before he disconnected everything hence come unstuck so i joined 1 switch wire to each of the twin and earths and obviously connected both neutrals and earths...at the moment to have the lights...

Good Morning. Hope someone can assist. my mate decided it was a good idea to replace the light fitting in his bedroom but became unstuck. there is 2 x 2.5 mm twin and earths and 1 x 2.5 twin with 2 red cables (i presume for the switch wires) How can he wire this up correctly as now he can...
