Hi,
I am in a similar position to you.
I'd recommend asking people when you are on a course with them. Sometimes bosses are on the courses too, refreshing their skills.
I'd ask them if they could offer you work experience for a week; you are more likely to get a "yes" than if you do it blind...
My local college has a scheme for people about to be made redundant or made redundant in the last 6 months. They have European funding for short courses, including the 17th Edition and Inspection & Test. Probably other colleges have something similar as its a way for them to get more people...
I found some statistics:
"Chance of any one consumer experiencing a PEN failure 1 in 236,000 per year.
Risk of PEN failure causing a reportable injury to a person 1 in 5,260,000 per year
It should be noted that there have been no fatalities from PEN failures over the 13 years to May 2003 that...

The house is fed by overhead wire. It turns out that it was converted from TT to TN-C-S but the earth rod connection has been retained. I know...

Hello,
I've just passed Part P and 17th Edition courses. Looking to become a Domestic Installer, will probably register with NICEIC.
Background of 20 years in Telecoms, career change due to redundancy.
