Qualificstions for Membership Napit or NICEIC?

NAPIT all the way, loads cheaper than NIC and you are not charged extra for add ons to your membership. May have changed but NUC wanted more for 3 phase and PAT testing

    Small scale generators advice please.

I'm after the article from Professional Electrician many years ago explaining the dangers if running two items of class 1 equipment from a SSG. My googling is coming up fruitless. I have been asked to help with the electrics at a small village fete and I know they use 1 gennie with extension...

    Average wage in maintenance??

Day rate £240. ½ day £120. Both plus parts. I've still got the same van, insurance, tax and overheads as a fulltime sparky. I value my time and experience as much as any full timer.

    RCBO Ratings

Your sparky is probably pissed off with being told how to do his job. Others have mentioned you have accumulation of leakage current causing the 300mA rcd to operate. Get the earth leakage tested at source. You may have to rejig the main incomer to sub boards to get rid of this fault. Chasing it...

    Is this reasonable?

I'm £120 for half days labour and £240 for full day. Both plus parts. If it takes me an hour then it's still same price regardless. I think it's a fair price.

    Average wage in maintenance??

I did it years ago. £42k. With the shifts I get plenty of time off and still do SE work to keep my NAPIT membership. Earn about £12k extra doing this. Paid holidays, pension and sick pay. Best thing I did really. Perk is, I only take on SE work that is easy.
