    2391 calculations

show us how u got 29 ohm first mate? Remember what u wrote ... Given that the resistance per meter of 2.5mm2 cable is 7.41 MILLI ohms per METRE ;)

    PFC & PSC

To find the highest pfc all parallel earth paths must be in place to get the lowest impedence ohm reading and the highest amp reading/calculation? Ze is taken with the earthing conductor disconnected, Zs at a Distribution board or Consumer Unit, where the protective device would be, is done with...

    PFC & PSC

Wouldnt it be U/Zs, as the earthing conductor is connected?

    Insulation resistance 0.00megger ohm

Lmfao loving the banter on here, more enjoyment then being a wwfc fan I tell LOL Nick1986 anytime u have a client/know-it-all over ur shoulder telling u to do this or tht, politely ask him it go away as u need to concentrate on what ur doing. It makes a massive difference when ur on ur own u...

    insulation resistance testing bombshell

i agree mate, but what do we do, what we believe is right or whats in the book?

    insulation resistance testing bombshell

whats with the head banging? i would do the same, but there are inspection and testing books now sayng there is no need to remove the main bonding conductor when testing an exsiting installation, ie EICR If the worst happens as like the OP's sineario and we end up in front of a lawyer with...

    insulation resistance testing bombshell

Does anyone disconnect the bonding when doing a continuity of main bonding when doing a EICR?

    insulation resistance testing bombshell

Anyone else noticed theyve taken the 'below 2M ohm needs further investigation' out of the new GN3? Very interesting thread by the way. I like the Unite ELECTRICIANS GUIDE TO INSPECTION AND TESTING with 1st ammendment, all testing i do is based exactly the same as in this book, so with this...

    Zs at db

Tht would be a Zs because all parallel paths r connected and tht makes sense, cheers. But thts not what I was asking or was told by my lecturer, he said disconnect the earthing conductor and measure to get this Zs at db. I'm glad uv explained it tho as he wasn't budging frm what he was saying...

    2391:301 Theory Exam Tonight 15th March 2012

C&G had lost our results, the centre had to show proof they were sent by special delivery, and they started an investigation!! Anyway, theyve just found them and iv passed!!! Absolutely Buzzing, just need to do the practical now!

r1? ze+(r1+r2) but as i said, if Ze is the impedence external to the installation, why would Zs suddenly be where Ze used to be? ---------- Post Auto-Merged at 16:02 ---------- Previous post was made at 15:56 ---------- we were looking at the new green regulations, Generic Schedule of test...

    Zs at db

R1 and r2 are the other parameters of zs, but we were taught tht the supply authities line conductor isn't classed as r1, it's the supplies line conductor. And if you measure at the end of the supplies line conductor to earth ur measuring ze, the external impedance? Nah, it's not a remote db...

    Zs at db

Just been in class we all been arguing with one of our lecturers about Ze suddenly becoming Zs at the consumer unit. We didn't get a full explanation frm him, so could someone explain why Ze, eflz external to the installation and measured across incoming line to disconnected earthing conductor...

Three tests required to verify the continuity

I'm interested in this question as I'm still learning. By using method 2, long lead method, and checking at main earthing terminal to several points along the trunking, and any earth points in electrical equipment, to its furthest point in tht circuit would be one way of doing it. Use method...
