    What a joke!

One step at a time.   You are making changes... You are getting treatment that will help you... You took the brave step to talk about it on here.  All of this is really positive.  Yes.. You will have set backs along the way... Everyone does... But things are improving for you. You are making...

    Exam nerves

You know you know your job. And you know you can perform the tasks in the trade test out in the field.  You are worrying about imaginary things that could go wrong in the test that haven't happened and are unlikely to happen. This might sound really daft. Give it a try. Imagine yourself taking...

    Din Rail Enclosure

Plastic enclosure distorting under the strain of incoming swa. 2.5mm cables protected by 63a fuse. And that was just the starting point

    Din Rail Enclosure

Thank you. I've caused a bit of stress over the last couple of days by telling a client that the panel as built and installed wasn't appropriate or safe for use. It was built on the continent and shipped here as part of a portable building.

    Din Rail Enclosure

So does this mean if someone has built a low voltage switch panel (think of it as a TPN board with some added contactors in the enclosure) that it should have been tested during the design and build by the panel builder and there should be some sort of conformance certificate with it?

    Din Rail Enclosure

Hi all, A customer of mine has had a distribution board built, using a 4 rail din enclosure.  mcb's and rcd's on one rail. main switch on another. Is there any regulation about the building and testing that should have been done during construction or am I imagining there is?? Thanks

    Stupid New Eicr Codes

C2. Not dangerous as is, but dangerous under 1st fault conditions. That would be my view.

    Anyone Recommend An Adhesive ?

Wonder if expanding foam would do the job. Supporting it whilst the foam sets might be the problem though...hmmm I've also used stixall (i think it's called) It's a bit like gripfil, but it has a very high initial grab... It's about £7-8 a tube

    Can't Make It Up.

I've been thinking about that. No idea how old the installation is, but assume it's didn't require rcd protection when installed. Cables may have been buried in plastic conduit. Adequate protection?? The electrician would have no idea anything would be drilled into the floor at some time in the...

    Can't Make It Up.

Met a friend today who told me about an incident that happened at the school she teaches at this week. Picture a school cafeteria with those chrome barriers that they use to divide the queues up between the tills.  A pupil decided to swing his feet of the ground by holding on to two of the...
