    Well the transformer they claim costs £120 so i dont think its a cheapo one? How would a dodgy circuit cause a power surge though? Apologise for all the questions, not experienced with this sort of thing Also because i dont think i have made it very clear. Two have blown in quick succession...

    No it is just plugged into a double socket. Other stuff is also plugged in at the same time, some times. Is that a problem. Would loose connections cause it?

    Ha Ha, no arc welding in living room! So you think it's the transformer? I dont know where they got it from. I have have been told it could be faulty wiring. Is this a common cause of spikes? Also heard loose connections could cause the problem. but other things i have plugged in have been fine.
