    Hi kerching thanks for your  input I hope your right regarding fly leads. it was always something I thought myself, as the insulation on them is at least 3x thickness of insulation on say a 1mm twin  conductor. Will defo use DL from now on or better still just install aico.

    Hi Murdoch thanks again. The base is just that a base doesn't provide you any means of termination. The wholesalers have always bagged them up with a small 20 amp jb for connection wich I realise now isn't really correct. However  I have always been told to follow the manufacturers...

    Really couldn't agree more. I think only reason I was put onto hispec was because aico used to be quiet large units in comparison, wich put customers off with there nice new ceilings

    Sorry murdoch fat fingers on small iPhone. I was just saying I have terminated a lot of these hi spec smokes using junction boxes an had only really questioned it today 😅 will use aico from now on

    Hi Murdoch thanks for reply. I will do from now on much better units ive fitted a lot of the hispec ones using the jb technique as I was told there leads were thick enuf wich they are 3x thicker wise of insulation but still single coating I I i was beating myself up. Think all sparked end up...

    Hi I would just really like to see how people have terminated these themselfs.  Ive seen so many different ways an have been taught that they should be done using a junction box ( I now know I should have used a conduit or round patress ) in ceiling first feel like a bloody idiot as I pride...
