NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

6150 - I cut my teeth on the AT&T 3B Series, Fortune 32:16, Altos and of course the IBM PC. I then specialized on the IBM 6150 which was IBM's foray into the Unix (AIX) world followed by the RS6000 which was used to beat Garry Kasporov at Chess using a special AI program. (Big Blue) Token...

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

Very true, but they (IBM) are certainly not the behemoth they once was.  :C

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

So pleased to hear it. Back in the day, I did 2 years part time Tec II electrical engineering, my third and final year was interrupted by the Manpower Services Commission offering me a 6 month "minimal paid" intensive training course in computers with a guarantee of a job thereafter. Absolutely...

Clearly hit a chord here. A lot of you are in agreement, which is surprising considering I am in the Electrical Inspection & Testing Forum.

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

Won't be long...... https://www.electricalcompetentperson.co.uk/About-Us I have had two recent reports from NICEIC "Approved Contractors" and they have been total garbage. Why?  because their head is up their arse. What is needed is an independent arbitration group that consumer's can go to...

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

The answer is yes, but the debate remains. I am on the side of the "approved domestic installer" but the bigger picture from the likes of NICEIC look like they are being shafted by NICEIC and the Govt. eg: https://www.electricalcompetentperson.co.uk/Search

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

I find the NICEIC website to be very ambiguous. http://www.niceic.com/join-us/part-p-domestic-installer-scheme The Domestic Installer Covers... Design Installation Certification https://www.niceic.com/join-us/approved-contractor-scheme The scheme covers: electricians working on...

NICIEC Domestic Installer submitting an IPM18C EICR

Is the EICR valid? eg: Would a local authority requesting the EICR for the property accept it?

EICR Remedial Work and using another Electrician

Seeking clarification on how that works,  The new qualified electrician completes the remedial works and sends off the details to the EICR inspector so the report can be changed to SATISFACTORY? Is that how it works?

Was I being unreasonable? EICR Clarifications

Firstly, let me say there is no "Alternative Dispute Resolution" (ADR) in place for EICR's. So the only place to raise a complaint is with the CPC, in my case the NICEIC. Most people can see visual observations reported, albeit, those visual observations were questioned to Tester 2 and he...

Was I being unreasonable? EICR Clarifications

I know. No circuit alteration has taken place since the EICR in 2013. I have clearly shown in this thread that NICEIC tester's (plural) are going around rental properties and writing C2 garbage in the observations section of the EICR.  I am not suggesting for one minute that ALL inspection...

Was I being unreasonable? EICR Clarifications

To be honest, it does not say "Satisfactory" on Tester 3 (May 2021) or Tester 2 (Feb 2021) EICR cert. Tester 1 "Satisfactory" EICR cert was completed in 2013 so it is out of date for a rental property.

You're asking me?  This has been attached before....

Was I being unreasonable? EICR Clarifications

I did exactly that...... Hi Tester 3, 1.The test results for circuit 3 show loose connections within the circuit. C2             “ The upstairs sockets continuity results are different when they should be the same.” There is a large discrepancy with your readings for circuit 3 (Downstairs...

Before I contact Tester  3,  can learned peeps on here please sanity check the revised document attached to ensure there are no glaring mistakes. Much appreciated,

Was I being unreasonable? EICR Clarifications

We are not talking years here, it's 3 months. I'm not sure you understand my point. Please correct me if I am wrong. It is impossible for Tester 3 to get those low impedance readings for downstairs sockets given the previous 2 readings unless he has some magical ability to dramatically reduce...
