    Solar Panels on Leanto

Hi, I am considering building a lean to against the rear of my house starting just under the top windows, down to just over the bottom windows across the width of the house. No walls, just some oversized posts and built solid Depth will be about 3m. Decked roof with IKO Armourglass Plus Square...

    EV charging stations

Wouldn't it be better to install each EVSE (the OP did say 2 EVSE's) on different phases - so 32Amps on two phases. No issue there. Of course it does mean having to pull 2 cables to the shed or one 3 phase cable I guess

Replaced Flourescent Tubes with LED Tubes which are now flickering annoyingly

I might here to - although given the state of the insulation I may well have to replace the entire fitting I readded the smart switch and the flickering is even worse now that I have removed the cap. With the dumb rocker switch its fine, shorted its fine (suprise suprise, given that what the...

Replaced Flourescent Tubes with LED Tubes which are now flickering annoyingly

Oh Poo, its the switch. I just replaced the smart swicth with a typical dumb rocker switch and the lights don't flicker Any suggestions? I want to be able to smart control the lights in the house - but they are the typical UK switch live and a number of the smart switches don't support that.

Replaced Flourescent Tubes with LED Tubes which are now flickering annoyingly

Hi, I had a twin flourescent tube setup in my home office - I replaced the tubes with LED tubes and obviously also replaced the starters with whatever the LED's require. However these are now flickering (I don't think they did initially). Both tubes are flickering. Some google says that the...

Is there any way of keeping my Solar & batteries working in the event of a power cut

I have the same. But the batteries are inthe detached garage which means that I would have to run a scond circuit between the house and the garage AND then distribute this out into the house somehow. I would much rather be able to isolate the mains (simple isolation switch) and then fool the...

Is there any way of keeping my Solar & batteries working in the event of a power cut

Could I do this with a UPS? I have enough of those. Plug the UPS output into the mains (ignoring the live male plug issue). The problem I can see is that at least for an brief period of time the UPS would be trying to supply the whole house whilst the batteries and solar wake up something that a...

Is there any way of keeping my Solar & batteries working in the event of a power cut

Which is what I am doing with my in garage freezer. I'd like a way to power the house (maybe not the oven, but the microwave should be very practical, along with lights and plugs throughout) without wiring special circuits (and having to use more cable between the house and the garage). The...

Is there any way of keeping my Solar & batteries working in the event of a power cut

I have a 4kWp solar system with a Sunnyboy inverter on the roof facing almost directly south - this is on the house I also have 30 or so kWh of batteries off two luxpower inverters installed in the very nearby but unattached garage each capable of about 3kW - so 6kW in total. These batteries are...
